Unmarked probably Flemish late 17th-early 18th century chalice
The bowl with a gilt interior and chased with a lower band of leaves, on an ovoid knopped stem and domed foot chased with further foliage, engraved with an armorial to the bottom
Engraved with a quartered personal shield of Netherlandish origin including the distinctive, possibly unique, ten-mascled quarter for LALAING of Brabant, a province incorporated into the Kingdom of Belgium in 1839. The head of this family bore the titles: Count of Hoogstraten, June 1519; Count of Lalaing, 1552: Viscount d'Audenarde and Count of the Holy Roman Empire, 17th April 1719, this title being confirmed on 20th Septemeber 1877
