We are pleased to offer for sale a lovely quality carved oak bookcase.
The bookcase is French and dates to around 1870. It is heavily carved in the Renaissance manner.
Glazed doors to the upper section surmounted by maskhead, fruit and foliate pillars. Carved pediment top.
The lower section with cupboard space. Both doors with hand carved country hunting panels and motto "Nosce te ipsum", know thyself.
The bookcase disassembles to three sections; pediment, top & bottom.
A lovely piece of antique country furniture.
